I don’t mean your dream car, necessarily. Rather, what kind of vehicle do you want in this point in time?
Right now, I have a somewhat irrational want for an old-school V8, 4x4, manual pickup truck. I really wish I could convince my parents to sell me this beast. It’s a ‘90 F-150 with a 302 V8. It guzzles fuel, but I love driving it.

An D2 S8 or a Quattroporte.

Quattroporte? Very nice, but getting to work must not be a big priority, eh?

But with a utility bed.

I have to admit, that gives me a bit of a bro-truck boner.

They aren’t that bad! As long as you skip the F1.
Only problem is that I’m currently making half the amount of money I was making last year.......

I’m starting to see a lot of bikes around. I would love to have an 80’s scooter or cruiser.

Those are great. I know lots of people are bitching about the Scion version of the Auris, but I’m glad it’s coming here.

I’d love to trade my Taurus for a few things right now. But I would really love a GMT400 Silverado or Sierra.

At this exact moment, I’m really happy with my Miata. Over the winter I really wanted an XJ Cherokee.
I’ve been really wanting a BMW saloon recently though. Money no object, an e28 M5 would be pretty much the best thing ever. I’ve been racking up something like around 2000 miles a month recently, and my Miata was getting a bit old. Replacing the hub bearings that were howling really changed my feelings about the car though.

What I’m looking for:

Realistically, a Subaru Outback / Forester, or 4Runner for taking my dirty mountain bikes around and oh ya.. the wife... Unrealistically, a sports car that I fit my tall ass into and oh ya... The girlfriend....

4 door RWD Infiniti, or similar. Basically 4 doors that can haul ass and look halfway decent.

Shameful Jalop secret: I don’t have even the slightest interest in BMWs. I’ll show myself out.

I DD an ‘03 Civic EX, and I'd swap it for a 4 door automatic version. I don't really need a stick for my 100 mile round trip commute, and an incoming baby means the coupe is slightly impractical.

For what it costs to maintain them, you might as well buy something more interesting. With all the highway miles I’ve been doing recently though, an autobahn stormer is certainly appealing.

I want to shit can my Piece of Fit and buy a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited.

I want to replace my 08 Rabbit with something a bit more fun, like a Fiesta ST or FR-S. Or replace my 08 Tundra with a Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel or the dodge ram with a diesel. The Tundra is great but the millage sucks and I want something with more toys or at least a better stereo.

Just promise me that when you crash into something and it’s totally your fault, you’ll get out and yell at the other driver. I think that’s my favorite type of Russian dashcam video.

I have a 12-year-old Mazda6 V6 S now that I've had exactly a month as of today.
I could get away with driving a coupe, hardtop convertible, midsize wagon, small crossover, or full-capability comfortable SUV.
Of these, I'd consider :
-2013+ Mustang
-Mazdaspeed Miata
-NC Miata PRHT
-Mazda RX-8
-2003-2008ish Mazda6 wagon
-current Mazda6 Grand Touring
-the not-sold-in-the-US current Mazda6 wagon
-the not-sold-in-the-US Jaguar XF and XE wagons (presuming there will be an XE wagon)
-the not-sold-in-the-US Ford Falcon
-Ford Fusion with a Focus ST or RS powertrain.
-Ford Fiesta ST
-Mazda CX-3
-Mazda CX-5
-Mazda CX-9 if my wife and I started a family
-Range Rover with a CarMax warranty
-Land Rover Discovery Sport
-Land Rover LR4 with CarMax warranty
-New Volvo XC90
I'd also consider a Focus Electric, C-Max hybrid or Energi, Fusion Energi, Soul EV, and a Nissan Leaf. I have an 8 mile commute, so no "range anxiety". I understand the environmental impact of making their batteries, but they're going to be made, and once charged they can supplement my house's energy usage during peak hours, lowering my draw in the grid and lowering electricity costs.
If I were as active as I was before I met my wife (she has cancer so our activity level is limited to an extent, depending how she feels), I'd more strongly consider a crossover or smaller pickup, especially if the current Ranger was available in the US.

I sold my mileage-getter, so have been driving the truck a lot lately ('03 GMC 2500hd). It's been a lot of fun, but I'd really like another good-mileage vehicle. The problem is, is that nobody sells what I want in the US. Want a manual tranny wagon in fwd or awd with a manual transmission, that is NOT a Subaru (wife will not subie).
